How to Borrow Microfilm
from
the Archives of American Art
Microfilmed material may be consulted
in the Archives' Research Centers by appointment or through Interlibrary
loan, unless it is restricted.
- Interlibrary Loan:
All unrestricted microfilm and oral history
interviews can be borrowed by libraries through Interlibrary Loan. Microfilm
requests are limited to 8 rolls for a period of 28 days, with renewal dependent
upon demand. Librarians are encouraged to use AAA's website Interlibrary
Loan ILL
Request Form.
- Before filling out the Interlibrary
Loan Request Form, you will need to find the specific microfilm #s. You
can use the AAA online catalogue located at: http://www.aaa.si.edu/
- The AAA's catalog is part of the Smithsonian Institution Research Information
System's (http://www.siris.si.edu/).
- Contact Us" - has hours, people, locations, etc.

- \Using the Siris Catalogue:
1. Go to SIRIS MAIN MENU
2. Click on ARCHIVES
& MANUSCRIPTS Catalog.
3. To limit your keyword searching to just the Archives of American Art,
click on Repository pull down menus, and select Archives of American Art.
4. Click on the full record which will give you the microfilm # you wish
to request.
