New Deal/WPA Art in Jenkins, Kentucky

These Post Office terra cotta reliefs were funded by the Section of Fine Arts under the Treasury Department and not the WPA.

Jenkins, KY Post Office
"Miner" and "Daughter" - terra-cotta reliefs
F. Jean Thalinger (1943)
(missing since Post Office renovations in the late 1970's)

Photographs above provided by the artist's son, Ernest Thalinger, Jr.
His father took the photographs of the reliefs and very likely developed them himself.
