New Deal/WPA Art in Alexander City, Alabama
These Post Office reliefs were funded by the Section of Fine Arts under the Treasury Department and not the WPA.
"Wheat" and "Tobacco" were in the vault in City Hall. The other two had remained in the old Post Office. All four pieces are now in City Hall. There are plans now to get them cleaned and restored when funds become available and installed once restored in the library.
