New Deal/WPA Art in Los Banos, California

This Post Office mural was funded by the Section of Fine Arts under the Treasury Department and not the WPA.

This is one of the mural designs (artist unknown) for the 48 States Competition. It was intended for the Los Banos Post Office building. The winner of the competition was Lew E. Davis' "Early Spanish Caballeros." Unfortunately it is not known if the winning mural by Davis has survived.
