Timberline Lodge was built by the Works Progress Administration in 1936
and 1937. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt dedicated the lodge in September
1937. Artists and craftsmen working under the Federal Art Project created
art works and furnishing for the lodge. Most of the original furnishings
and art works remain intact.
