New Deal/WPA Art in Oakton Elementary School
436 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois

Oakton School is home to many New Deal and W.P.A. artworks. Due to damage caused by water leaking from the roof in the auditorium, the Scheffler murals have extensive damage. On November 25, 2003, the Illinois Legislature passed Public Act 93-0587 which provides funding to restore and repair the Charlemagne murals. However, to this date, release of these funds is pending from the Illinois Bureau of the Budget.
